This week we will begin our constitutional debates. Though we are doing things a little differently than the debates the students might have heard about, the task is still just as demanding.
Students will research some very popular, controversial issues such as death penalty, gun control, school uniforms, students communication restrictions, and search and seizure. They will research pros and cons and The Constitution supports each side
The final project will be an essay which fights for a constitutional issue chosen by the student. Each essay will refer to specific court cases and touch on the ideals of the constitution, Democratic ideals, and common good. The scoring rubric for this essay will be presented
